Specific Details Ensure that Ranelagh Gaels, one of the fastest growing GAA clubs in Ireland, has adequate access to green areas to train and play games.

Intended results We have been campaigning for several years to secure a long-term lease for the GAA grounds at Cathal Brugha barracks, to allow us develop and sustain our large community-based club.

Event / Reception (1)

We wrote to Tánaiste Micheál Martin earlier this year and invited him to visit the club. Local TD Jim O'Callaghan informed us on November 17 that Mr Martin would visit the club on November 18 as part of election campaign. Between 80-100 members (including children) were at the club for the visit which lasted one hour. Club officials made a short presentation on lack of green spaces. Mr Martin spoke to club officials about the issue of a long-term lease at Cathal Brugha Barracks.
