Specific Details TI Ireland wrote to the Minister for Finance on 23 April 2024 to request a meeting to discuss the law on access to beneficial ownership registers, notably Statutory Instrument No. 308 of 2023 . A copy of this letter was also sent to five TDs who have asked PQs about this legislation, to the chair of the Oireachtas Finance Committee, and to the chair of the Advisory Council on Economic Crime and Corruption.

Intended results To ensure that any review of SI 308/2023 provides genuine access to beneficial ownership registers for those journalists and civil society organisations with a legitimate interest in such information, as defined in the EU's recently agreed Anti-Money Laundering Rule Book.

Letter (1)

The letter, signed by John Devitt, was sent by email from Alexander Chance to the minister's Oireachtas email address on 23 April 2024. The Minister's diary manager acknowledged receipt of the letter via email on 25 April 2024.

Email (6-10)

A copy of John Devitt's letter to the Minister for Finance was sent by email on 23 April 2024 from Alexander Chance to five TDs who have previously asked PQs on SI 308/2023, to the chair of the Oireachtas Finance Committee and to the chair of the Advisory Council on Economic Crime and Corruption. These emails also offered to meet with recipients to discuss TI Ireland's wider work against illicit finance. The office of Catherine Murphy TD acknowledged receipt of the email on 25 April 2024.
