Brief informal discussion with Minister Francis Fitzgerald on 9th September 2016 at National Women's Council of Ireland AGM held at the Aisling Hotel, Dublin. Discussion focused on our support for the passing of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Bill with particular emphasis on the introduction of sex buyer laws.

Letters sent to all Cork TDs on 30th September 2016 seeking their support for the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Bill and its prioritisation during the current Dáil term. TDs were informed that Sexual Violence Centre Cork welcomed the provisions relating to sex buyer laws contained in the Bill as a progressive step towards the elimination of the sexual exploitation of women and reducing the demand for prostitution. TDs were asked to confirm their position in relation to this legislation.

Discussion focused on our continued support for the prioritisation of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Bill with particular emphasis on the introduction of sex buyer laws.
