Meeting (1)

The General political environment in the US & EU was discussed. On the insurance side, AIG stressed the need for predictability in the market & noted our concern in relation to some recent developments; in particular the Setanta issue on insolvent motor insurers & the increase in charges for private patients in public hospitals. The potential move of the AIG European Head Office to Ireland was raised and a general enquiry made as to how such an application would be viewed by the Government
