Intended results Continued State support of community based employment activation programmes. Demonstrate how an effective Job Club operates, and can be relevant and innovative. This particular initiative is effective regionally through inter-agency/business partnerships. Demonstrate how businesses can be engaged to tackle unemployment. Demonstrate how a Job Club and Community Employment programme can dovetail effectively. To inform State policy development for long-term unemployed people in the over-45 age group. To inform State policy development in the area of the importance of digital literacy for job-readiness.

Event / Reception (1)

The Department of Social Protection initiated contact with Jobcare to suggest that Minister Varadkar provide the keynote opening address for this event on this occasion. The event was Jobcare's Network-to-Getwork networking reception on 30 September 2016 at The Exchange, Gardiner Street Lower. The event attracts local businesses and employers who attend to encourage and supportively network with Jobcare's clients who are all long-term unemployed people looking for work. Network-To-Network is part of Jobcare's innovative Jobnet programme for unemployed professionals and graduates. Jobnet is delivered in Dublin by Jobcare, and regionally by Jobcare in partnership with local businesses and agencies.
