Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR)
Intended results
To discuss the progress of the schemes proposed under the Brexit Adjustment Reserve(BAR) supports.
To seek an explanation as to why only €50m of the €1.1bn Brexit Adjustment Fund (BAR) is going to primary agriculture.
- While there has not been a 'Hard Brexit' yet, Irish agriculture is still facing an uncertain future in relation to the UK market, especially with the new trade deals the UK is signing.
- €150m of the Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR) funding is being relocated to the REPowerEU initiative - the initiative to promote energy security by diversification of the Unions energy supply, increasing the uptake of renewables and energy efficiency, increasing energy storage capacities and the reduction of dependence on fossil fuels before 2030.
To highlight how this funding should be used to proactively develop initiatives to deliver BAR funding directly to farming.
