Specific Details Our Town: Our Future - Capturing the Voice of Children

Intended results Tralee has been selected to pilot town for a new programme run by the Museum of Childhood Ireland in conjunction with the Heritage Council. The aim of pilot project is to capture views of Children in Placemaking and what the Future of Town could look like from a child's perspective. We have been asked to examine an opportunity to facilitate the following; A 'public' open-day event in September for children to visit ( Marquee in the Square) to hear various speakers and to view more about program. A short-term display space in a vacant shop-window to showcase the models/art-work produced by children. An opportunity for a number of children to present their findings/report to the Chief Executive of Kerry County Council and Mayor of Tralee. To assist with bringing all relevant stakeholders on-board.
