Submission (1)

A submission to local representatives to discuss the de-zoning of the Marina site at Athy to Open Public Space. The following text provides a summary of those discussions: DISCUSSION OF THE IMPLICATIONS OF DE-ZONING OF THE MARINA SITE UNDER PROPOSED DRAFT ATHY LAP (2021-2027) including: (i) De-zoning of Marina Site from Town Centre to Open Space not appropriate. (ii) Flooding Concerns Will Be Addressed. (iii) We are contemplating A Plan For This Site Which Embraces The River Barrow REQUEST OF REPRESENTATIVES TO: (i) Support our ambitions for the site; (ii) Strongly object to the de-zoning of The Marina lands as proposed under the DRAFT ATHY LAP 2021-2027 (iii) Recommend the zoning status of The Marina site as Town Centre designation IS RETAINED from the prior plan so that the entire Abbey and Marina sites can be developed comprehensively as one site to reflect our development ambitions.
