Specific Details We wrote to the Minister for Finance to follow up on previous correspondence calling for permanent debt cancellation for developing countries in the light of the Covid-19 epidemic

Intended results We called on the Irish government to use its influence to support the call for: - an immediate and permanent cancellation of all principal, interest and charges for the remainder of 2020 for all countries in need, and most urgently for PRGT and IDA countries. - to push for extension of this offer to payments due on multilateral debt in 2020, including those of the IMF and World Bank (WB).
