Intended results asked the Committee to investigate: 1. Commuter Towns Support - The high rate of commuting to Dublin across the large towns in wider periphery of Dublin is continually increasing but is not a long-term sustainable option due to the ever-increasing commuter times. These towns can be a viable alternative to growing a business in Dublin due to the highly skilled employees already living in the area coupled with lower accommodation and office costs.

Submission (1)

The Seanad Public Consultation Committee is inviting written submissions from interested groups or individuals to consider the issue of fostering and sustaining the Irish Small and Medium-sized business sector. Interested organisations and individuals are invited to send written submissions to the Committee on this issue. The Committee will review all submissions and may invite a number of the contributors to participate in a meeting with the Committee. The meeting will be held in the Seanad Chamber at Leinster House. When this public process is complete, the Committee intends to publish a report on the matter for consideration by the Seanad and the Government.
