Specific Details On he 16th August, I went to see Minister Michael Ring about the possibility of using the back grounds of the Convent of Mercy, Westport for a Community Development project.

Intended results Build a new Summerhouse to replace the old Summerhouse that was burnt down to the ground by vandals. Create a place where polytunnels can be put up for the purpose of teaching school children and people from all walks of life about how to grow food. Make use of the existing out building for a community centre for a drop in centre and homesteading arts and crafts. Make use of existing greenhouse.

Herewith is a copy of the letter I have sent to the Westport Town Councillor. Dear Anne Moore, Please find herewith a proposal for the building of a new Summerhouse on the grounds of the Convent of Mercy. As I believe you are already well aware of the unhappiness caused by the burning down of the Summerhouse. I wonder would the Town Council be interested in this proposal of building a new Summerhouse, a community centre and place to learn about growing organic food or permaculture. This, in remembrance and to honour past pupils, their teachers and their families from around the world. The aim is to create an aesthetically beautiful place where people can learn about Horticulture, do Homesteading Arts and Crafts and socialise in an environment that is conducive to physical and mental health and well being. (I ran out of space) Basically I mentioned that I sent a copy of letter to CEO of Mayo County County and that Minster Ring is aware of this.
