Specific Details
Communicating the priorities of Irish business for the future of Europe and the EU-UK relationship
Intended results
Create awareness of the economic risks associated with Brexit and the likely impact that different scenarios have for individual companies.
Ensure proactive steps are taken domestically to offset these risks.
To ensure Government adopts a position in negotiations that seeks to minimise economic disruption and adverse effects on Irish companies, and promotes a positive, collaborative future EU/UK relationship and a strong, successful future EU.
Achieve support for Irish business priorities for the future of the EU - harnessing the potential of the single market and digitisation; strengthen the EU's role as a global economic actor; embracing competitive and independent taxation policy; respecting national social and labour market policies; advancing better regulation; acknowledging the need for flexibility in the creation and application of EU fiscal rules.
