Submission to the Cost of Insurance Working Group. A review of the Irish insurance claims environment in the personal injuries area including recommendations for reform such as the need for senior judicial leadership of meaningful reform; the setting up of a dedicated and separately funded police resource to investigate and prosecute insurance fraud; the setting up of an insurance fraud taskforce; further refinement of the Injuries Board’s Book of Quantum; work towards a fixed or predictable scales of legal costs and procedural improvement and active judicial case management in setting case timetables, narrowing issues in dispute and in sanctioning parties in default.
