Mayo County Council 2018 Budgets were being finalised with elected councillors coming together in November 2017 to sign off on budgets for 2018. A threat of a reduction of €2000,00 to General Municipal funding for Ballina Municipal District was muted, which would have a direct impact on organisations, sporting groups and community groups in Ballina and North Mayo. Paul Regan President of Ballina Chamber of Commerce contacted all eight councillors in the District and requested they stand firm against this budget reductions..
