Specific Details Budget Submission 2018 - SIMI prepares an annual Submission for the Budget. The Submission was issued to the Minister, but in addition the Society held 2 lobbying days inviting all TDs and Senators to Buswells Hotel to outline the contents of the Submission. In addition, this year the Society's members made available to TDs/Senators electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles for them to test drive.

Intended results For Budget 2018, no increases in motor related taxation, nor in business relaated taxation. In addition, improvements to tax incentives that would encourage car-buyers to consider choosing an electric or hybrid vehicle - incentives could include reduced (0%) BIK, free tolls, free parking in designated areas, and use of bus lanes.
