Specific Details Invite to officially open the AOECS European conference of coeliac societies held in Dublin. The focus on the conference was on screening for coeliac disease. No targeted screening programme exists for first blood relatives of those already diagnosed with coeliac disease. Coeliac Society of Ireland is advocating that targeted screening should exist for first blood relatives versus general population screening.

Intended results To further inform a relevant member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children regarding the need for targeted screening in Ireland, further to having reviewed screening methods in other European countries.
