Specific Details We organised a lunch with Oireachtas members in the members restaurant of Leinster House to discuss the results of our membership survey, vaccinations for patients, integrated model of care, Sustainable funding for COPD, Regional considerations and Personal experience of COPD

Intended results This lunch was an opportunity to build a relationship with the Oireachtas Senators and COPD Support Ireland so that we can raise awareness about COPD, emphasise the need for support of the integrated model of care. To stress the need for sustainable funding for our model of care. To show senators first hand experiences from some of our members of daily living with COPD and its challenges . We also wish to use this lunch as a first step with a follow up meeting / lunch anticipated for mid 2026.

Email (6-10)

An e-mail was sent to Minster Sean Canney a previous sponsor of our events at Leinster House. Due to his unavailability we emailed Senator Linda Nelson Murray & Senator Garret Kelleher to request a lunch with invited Oireachtas members and COPDSI. Senator Nelson Murray welcomed all in attendance, Senator Eileen Flynn spoke of her personal experiences with COPD. Dr Stanley Miller Chairperson of COPDSI introduced a range of topics relating to COPD and a discussion followed with all in attendance.
