Intended results Financial support for a new non-profit initiative to promote the implementation of the PDA (titled Integrity at Work) and free legal advice for those making protected disclosures to be delivered by the Transparency Legal Advice Centre.

The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.

Meeting (2-5)

A meeting was held with Mr William Beausang (Department of Public Expenditure and Reform) on 7 November to brief him on a funding proposal to support the work of the Transparency Legal Advice Centre (see www.transparency.ie/helpline/TLAC) and the Integrity at Work initiative (see www.integrityatwork.ie) during 2017. A further meeting was held on 20 December to discuss the financial and logistical details of the proposal. Meetings were also held with Ms Oonagh McPhillips and her officials at the Department of Justice and Equality on 17 November and 20 December to discuss funding for the potential financial support for the Transparency Legal Advice Centre and participation in the Integrity at Work initiative of the Department and agencies under its aegis.

Funding proposals were sent to Mr Robert Watt in furtherance of the aforementioned proposal to DPER on 30 September and emailed to Ms Oonagh McPhilips in pursuit of the funding proposal to DJE on 1 September.
