Specific Details Priority publication of the bill to reform the Mental Health Act, 2001

Intended results Change in Mental Health Law - The Draft Bill to reform the 2001 Mental Health Act was included in the priority drafting list in the Spring/Summer 2023 Legislative Programme for the Oireachtas. MHR advocated for the progression of this from priority drafting to priority publication. Lobbying was undertaken to that effect - requesting that the Government move this draft bill to the priority publication list for the Autumn/Winter 2023 legislative programme.
