Lobbying activity
The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.
Letter (1)
A letter was sent, requesting that in the lead up to planning for Budget 2023 there is consideration given to the career guidance needs of young adults with intellectual disabilities receiving their education in special schools. It highlighted that career guidance counsellors are provided to students with special educational needs in mainstream schools, but not to students in special schools. To ensure students with intellectual disabilities can access opportunities on an equal footing to their peers they need access to career guidance counselling irrespective of where they attend school. The National Federations Submission to the Career Guidance Review was also attached.
