Specific Details kidney patients faced with many challenges and are increased by deficiencies in the renal and dialysis units in Sligo University Hospital.

The current unit opened in May 2005 when it catered for 30 patients – the same building now has 59 patients with more arriving almost weekly. Sligo is now the oldest dialysis unit in the country with no HSE plans to modernise it.
