Specific Details Request to a Senior Minister to speak at our National Conference 2020

Intended results An invite issued in early Oct 2019 to the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment to attend our National Conference on Thursday 23 April and to address the profession on the conference topic: Engineering climate action; mitigation, resilience and adaptation. We know that the Irish engineering profession would certainly benefit from hearing the Minister's insights and the progress being made in the implementation of the Climate Action Plan.

This email invite (outlining the goals and aims of the conference) issued from our DG and our President. Our conference will be an important forum for us to engage with our member-engineers, business leaders, policy makers and others, to discuss climate action and the leadership role engineers have in addressing climate break down. The Minister's office came back and asked us to reissue the October 2019 invitation again in January 2020 when the Minister's office would have a clearer line-sight of the Minister's spring diary.
