Intended results
A meeting between the Minister and his Officials, and Veterinary Ireland, in order to brief the Minister on the concerns of Veterinary Ireland in relation to the changes made to the Code of Professional Conduct by the Veterinary Council of Ireland
Minister's intercession to suspend results of the re-interpretation of the law by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, pending proper and open consultation with Stakeholders, and an appropriate amendment to the law, if deemed necessary.
Briefing of the Joint Oireachtas Committee Members on the concerns of Veterinary Ireland in relation to the changes made to the Code of Professional Conduct by the Veterinary Council of Ireland
Intercession by the Joint Oireachtas Committee to ensure that the Veterinary Council of Ireland upholds the Veterinary Practice Act 2005 as amended and ensure the professional autonomy of veterinary practitioners, and an appropriate amendment to the law, if deemed necessary.
