Specific Details Submission to the Low Pay Commission regarding Minimum Wage Rates

Intended results Asking for further careful consideration in advance of any further increase in the minimum wage as the Restaurant sector, in particular, is very sensitive to wage costs and it is essential that increases in the minimum wage do not impact negatively on employment, hours worked, the price of the product and general wage levels in the sector. Seeking a hold on the current minimum wage rate so as to avoid any negative impact on the economy and SMEs.

Meeting (1)

Requested by the Low Pay Commission, to attend an oral hearing on 25th March 2019, following submission to the consultation in February.
