Specific Details ITIC's tourism strategy - Tourism 2025 An Industry Strategy for Growth

Intended results Ambitious goals and targets for success by 2025 given the right policies and investment decisions. By 2025 the strategy makes the case that earnings from overseas tourism can increase by 65% to €8.1 billion annually, A further 80,000 more jobs nation-wide to be created. Just under €2 billion being returned to the exchequer each year in direct tourism related taxes. The strategy identifies key enabling factors including the construction of new hotels, the expansion of Dublin Airport, the retention of competitiveness, maintenance of the tourism industry’s ability to match and exceed visitor expectations, nimble and responsive state agencies, and increased state investment. A National Tourism Day/Week to be created. Industry-led, Government-enabled, and Agency-supported, tourism can have a bright future for Ireland and provide long-term sustainable economic activity throughout the country.
