Specific Details Engineers Ireland Annual Conference, (Limerick)

Intended results The theme of our Annual Conference on 13 April was Engineering A Region: Infrastructure, Industry and Innovation. A number of Government Ministers were asked to attend to hear the views of 11 speakers - all experts in their fields on the conference subject matter and to also give an opening address. It was felt attending delegates would be interested to hear the views of the Minister (s) in relation to the recently published Project Ireland 2040 report.

We contacted the following members of Dáil Éireann to speak and to attend at our annual event: An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, TD, Minister Paschal Donohoe, Minister Eoghan Murphy, Minister Heather Humphreys TD and Tánaiste Simon Coveney. They were contacted by email. Our emails were supported by follow up contact by Minister Brendan Griffin's office.

Phone call (6-10)

A number of phone calls were made with the aiming to secure a Government Minister to attend and address delegates as a key speaker.

Event / Reception (2-5)

Two events happened around the conference held in Limerick city centre on 13 April - a welcome reception the night before (12 April) to which local councillors and TDs were invited (and they are listed below) and then the conference itself would have had some designated public officials either invited to speak, attend, or taking part. No Minister was present.
