Meeting (1)

SAFE Ireland was invited to present its recommendations on Violence against Women for inclusion in the National Women’s Strategy 2017 – 2020 (NWS) to Department of Justice & Equality Officials at a meeting on the 13th of March. The meeting was attended by Carol Baxter, Assistant Secretary and Deirdre Ní Néill, Assistant Principal Officer in the Dept. of Justice & Equality, Greg Heylin, Director of the Victims of Crime Office, Sharon O’Halloran CEO and Caitríona Gleeson, Programme & Communications Manager, SAFE Ireland and Clíona Saidléar, Executive Director and Caroline Counihan, Legal Director, Rape Crisis Network Ireland. Following the meeting SAFE Ireland submitted by email on the 16th of March to the Department of Justice & Equality its recommended actions and performance indicators for the NWS with regards to Violence against Women.
