Continued engagement with the Department of Climate, Energy & Environment, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and other government departments on enactment of proposed amendments to Section 98 of the Electricity (Supply) Act 1927, as amended, to support the safe and resilient management of forestry corridors around electricity overhead lines. Support from TDs and Senators is being sought to advance the required legislative changes.
Intended results
Policy changes in relation to forestry planted in close proximity to the electricity network to ensure safe and resilient forestry corridors are maintained. Seeking to broaden ESB’s powers in managing forestry in proximity to electricity infrastructure.
