Email to Martina Anderson MEP, the only Irish member of LIBE. Enclosed letters opposing the definition from European Jewish organisations European Jews for a Just Peace (EJJP) and Free Speech on Israel (FSOI). Noted that "Antisemitism is a serious and sickening issue and must be confronted wherever it rears its head, but this definition neither helps us understand, define or fight real antisemitism, ie, hatred or prejudice against Jews simply because they are Jews. Instead this seeks to conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism - and has already been used by the British government, which adopted the definition last year, to shut down debate on the Palestine-Israel issue on British campuses this year."
