I sent an email to local Councillors. It was after a rezoning meeting with locals, the land owners and some city Councillors. The gist of the email was:
To urge the councillors to vote no to rezoning from Amenity to Residential. I then listed some facts that I heard from that meeting which were:
The area is a flood risk,
The councillors who were there seemed to agree with the locals that the area should not be rezoned.
That the proposed student residents are realistically going to be noisy.
That the new owners paid 412,000 for land that was estimated to go for 75,000.
That the sentiment from the meeting was that its not wanted.
That I live nearby and we already hear too grief much from existing students.
That I asked the council to consider buying the land for amenities.
