Specific Details Minister Ossian Smyth attended site visit at Panda's Materials Recovery Facility in Ballymount, Dublin to launch new partnership between ACE Ireland and Panda aimed at significantly improving the recycling process of beverage cartons placed on the Irish market.

Intended results To raise awareness of ACE Ireland's investment in new state-of-the-art robotic sorting technology in Ireland's largest materials recovery facility which will identify, pick, and sort cartons into their own dedicated streams for onward recycling at a specialised carton facility in the UK developed by ACE. To encourage DECC to follow up on the commitment to introduce specific packaging recovery and recycling targets for beverage cartons as set out in the Waste Action Plan for a Circular Economy.
