Letter (11-20)
The summary of the letter is attached: "The Credit Union Act currently requires Credit Unions to deliver a copy of the annual accounts, along with the notice of the AGM, to every eligible member. Capital Credit Union requests the Minister to amend the Credit Union Act to permit Credit Unions, when issuing the notice of the AGM to every eligible member, to include a statement in the notice to the effect that the annual accounts may be obtained on the website of the Credit Union or at the registered office of the Credit Union. Section 338 of the Companies Act 2014 contains a similar provision that could be easily adapted into the Credit Union Act. " A copy of the letter was sent to Minister Fleming first and then to all government TDs within Capital Credit Union's catchment area. The letter to the TDs was slightly modified to ask them to follow up with Minister Fleming about our request.

A PDF version of the above letter was emailed to Minister Fleming and all the Government TDs based in Capital Credit Union's catchment area. A follow-up email was sent to TDs who did not respond to the initial email. No further emails were sent. We received responses from Sean Fleming, Jim O'Callaghan, Patrick Costello and Josepha Madigan.
