Intended results
That Government puts in place measures that will support Irish farmers to meet the ambitious targets outlined in the plan.
A budget to deliver on the actions identified for the sector
An Taoiseach to bring together IFA, State Agencies and Government Departments, to ensure the full delivery of measures in the Teagasc Climate Roadmap
An advisory Services Climate Strategy - to ensure all of the 800 advisors are geared up to advise farmers on the measures to deliver the greatest climate impact
A Government strategy for the development of forestry on unenclosed lands.
On renewables, part of the forthcoming renewables electricity scheme will need to be ring-fenced for farm-scale and community-based renewables, with priority grid access and tariff supports for such projects
Ensure that all carbon sequestered by Ireland's grasslands, forestry and hedgerows are fully recognised, when looking at the carbon emitted and stored by the sector.
