Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA)
Lobbying activity
The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.
Letter (1)
I wrote to Simon Coveney, Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, raising ISPCA concerns about the lack of enforcement of the Dog Breeding Establishments Act 2010 by local authorities. Although the Dog Breeding Establishments Act falls under the auspices of the Department of Environment and Local Government, failure to enforce the DBEA has resulted in animal welfare problems and potential offences under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013, the Microchipping of Dogs Regulations 2015 and the Pet Passport (No. 2) Regulations 2014 which are the responsibility of the Department of Agriculture.
Designated public officials lobbied
The following DPOs were lobbied during this return period on this specific Subject Matter Area. These DPOs were involved in at least one of the Lobbying Activities listed above, but not necessarily all of them. As returns are specific to a Subject Matter Area the above Lobbying Activities may be associated with multiple returns.
