The event marking the opening of the new centre in Athlone took place on Friday, 6th June 2025 The event was attended by ASI staff, supporters and volunteers. The speakers included Cllr. Frankie Keena; Cllr, Liam McDaniel; the Minister of State for Older People and Housing, Kieran O’Donnell TD; and Minister of State at the Department of Finance, Robert Troy TD. Also in attendance was Micheál Carrigy, Kevin Boxer Moran, and Barry Cowen MEP.
