Request for the review and development of National Aviation Policy that maximises the use of existing capacity in regional state airports and that Aviation Policy recognises the strategic importance of Shannon Airport and promotes balanced regional development.

Intended results Alignment of Aviation Policy with the National Planning Framework (NPF) Proposals (Ireland 2040). That a review of national aviation policy would take place which recognises and support Project Ireland 2040 and which aligns with the National Planning Framework (NPF's) goal of achieving balanced population and economic growth across Ireland. The successful outcome would be the balanced development in the regions, ensuring that growth is distributed more evenly throughout the entire country.
