Intended results Neurologists of the Mater Hospital drew up a business case of €2.4 million to continue the Deep Brain Stimulation service in Ireland, at the Mater and Beaumont Hospital. EOPD.ie approached Minister Stephen Donnelly to secure funding for the DBS service.

Informal communication (6-10)

Initial contact was made to Stephen Donnelly to make him aware of the business case and the need for funding to continue DBS in Ireland. Following communications were regarding the business case and any other follow up information needed from the neurological team about the DBS service to secure funding. Follow up call made to Minister Donnelly to thank him for his support in securing €300,000 for DBS in the Mater.
